Khai islands

Three islets twenty minutes from the east-coast marinas: white sand, a reef in waist-deep water, fish at your feet. The gentlest first snorkel for a child, and an easy half day.

Good to know

  • The shared boats arrive around 13:00. Go in the morning and you have the sand.
  • The fish are used to being fed; please don't, they bite fingers.
  • Reef shoes for the children, the shallows are coral and shell.

Questions

Is it good for small children?

The best there is near Phuket: short crossing, shallow water, sand, and a boat to retreat to. Life jackets in children's sizes are on board.

Half day or full day?

A half day covers the beach and the reef. The full day adds lunch and the quiet afternoon on Khai Nai, or a Phi Phi morning first.

Can we combine Khai with Phi Phi?

Yes. The Phi Phi day ends at Khai on the way home, and the Phang Nga day can too if the tide allows.
